Happy Election Day – I know that I’ve been posting this weekly for a bit – but please, please, please, VOTE! If you haven’t returned your ballot and still need local insight, check out our great resources available here: https://fortcollinschamber.com/business-advocacy/elections/
And moving on to new topics, I am happy to announce that Yvonne Myers, our Vice President for Strategic Initiatives has been selected to participate in the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Foundation Fellowship for Economic Mobility.
The ACCE Foundation selected 20 chamber professionals from communities throughout the United States. This immersive, six-month program will provide the fellows with the education and tools to improve workforce ecosystems and remove barriers to access living wage jobs.
With the support of the Trust Foundation, ACCE Foundation will help the fellows determine how they can best advance economic mobility. They will consider how to transform workforce development and talent ecosystems by using data, leveraging partnerships and other practices. Participants will create a roadmap to implement workforce strategies.
“Chambers of commerce are uniquely positioned to address pressing talent issues in their communities,” said Sheree Anne Kelly, ACCE president & CEO. “We look forward to working with the fellows as they explore ways to enhance economic mobility for low-income workers in their regions and foster prosperous and equitable local economies.”
I am incredibly proud of the work that Yvonne has been leading on behalf of the Chamber and the larger business community and can’t wait to see what comes next with a national platform to learn from. Keep an eye on our website and events to see how you can get involved in this important conversation related to Economic Mobility. Congratulations Yvonne! Thank you for leading Northern Colorado with boldness and a servant heart!
