“A Time for Transformation” is focused on raising funds and awareness for the Substance Use Disorder services. With increased interest in improving all behavioral health services in Larimer County, SummitStone intends to bring awareness, education, understanding, and a sense of advocacy for those in attendance.
The program will preview the newest SummitStone facility, The Garcia House, which is a 16-bed intensive in-patient facility for those with SUD and mental health diagnoses. It will help to fill critical gaps in the current behavioral health services offered in our community. The event will also include an interview with Board Member and former Chair Fred Garcia, after whom The Garcia House was named. Fred has been a behavioral health champion in Larimer County and across the nation for more than four decades. He served the U.S. Senate as Deputy Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, as well as liaison between the drug treatment system and law enforcement. SummitStone CEO Michael Allen will also provide updates on the past year and hopes for the future with several surprise cameos from SummitStone supporters.
Due to COVID-19, the Annual Fundraiser will be held virtually as an online event over the lunch hour from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28. With the help of donations from generous supporters SummitStone is able to serve more than 10,000 clients annually.
