Festival of Ideas is a celebration of presentations from diverse disciplines, each contributing to The Great Conversation and intellectual tradition. Together, we examine enduring questions, timeless works, and the ideas that continue to shape our world. This year’s event commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with keynote speaker Dr. Susan McWilliams Barndt presenting her talk titled, “Exodus in 1776 and Beyond: A Lost Story of American Freedom.”
The event also features patriotic performances by Liberty’s staff and students, including the “Star Spangled Banner” by Mr. Lunn on saxophone, and Patrick Henry’s “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” by 9th grader, Miriam Herman. Whether you are passionate about history, politics, literature, science, or the arts, Festival of Ideas offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate the power of great ideas together. Learn more about the influence of Shakespeare on the silver screen or the science and innovation behind Ben Franklin’s lightning rods.
Event Information
This free event is open to the public and recommended for attendees ages 12 and up. Breakfast will be provided, and you may reserve a free lunch ticket with registration by Friday, September 25th.
