Grace Taylor, a key leader in northern Colorado’s health care landscape for nearly 20 years, has been named the next president of UCHealth Greeley Hospital.

Taylor will assume the role Feb. 1, becoming the hospital’s second president and succeeding Marilyn Schock, who announced her retirement in November after a distinguished career in health care leadership.

“Grace combines a genuine dedication to patients with strategic vision and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Kevin Unger, CEO of UCHealth’s Northern Colorado Region. “She will continue the hospital’s legacy of outstanding care, supporting a team that is passionate about improving lives.”

Since 2019, Taylor has served as vice president of operations for UCHealth’s Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins and Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she frequently served as incident commander for both hospitals, ensuring the continued delivery of exceptional care while prioritizing patient and staff safety. In recent years, she has overseen major expansion projects at both hospitals.

Taylor joined PVH in 2007 and has held local, regional and system roles in business and strategy development, community outreach and physician recruitment. She began her career in health care in 1999 as a clinical laboratory technologist. She earned a Master of Business Administration in health care administration from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology/biochemistry from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.

“I am honored to join this remarkable hospital and contribute meaningfully to the health and well-being of the Greeley and Weld County communities,” Taylor said. “I look forward to learning from and working alongside this talented team to help shape a future that reflects our shared commitment to delivering the highest quality care.”

Greeley Hospital opened in July 2019 and has experienced significant growth, increasing inpatient bed capacity by more than 70 percent, from 51 to 88 licensed beds. Recent additions include a 12-bed progressive care unit, a 20-bed acute care unit, three intensive care unit beds and two additional labor, recovery and postpartum beds in the birth center. Other projects have added operating rooms, a second emergency trauma bay and expanded the hospital’s kitchen and cafeteria.

Construction is underway to expand the emergency department by adding nine exam rooms and three intake rooms. The project is scheduled for completion this summer.
