[Fort Collins, CO] – [June 1, 2025] – Turning Point is proud to announce the launch of its Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), filling a service gap in Northern Colorado. This service, launching June 11, is designed to support youth aged 13-17 facing the dual challenges of mental health issues and substance use disorders. This new program aims to provide intensive care for adolescents who require more support than traditional outpatient services, yet do not need the level of care associated with inpatient hospitalization.

The PHP at Turning Point employs a holistic, trauma-informed approach, ensuring that each adolescent receives comprehensive treatment tailored to their individual needs. Through a combination of individual, group, and family therapies, the program focuses on critical facets of recovery including stabilization, skill-building, and family engagement, empowering youth to maintain their connections within their home and community.

Key features of the Adolescent PHP include:
Intake Assessment & Treatment Planning: Weekly reviews to track progress and adjust interventions for optimal outcomes.
Therapeutic Services: Individual therapy utilizing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), along with group sessions focusing on relapse prevention and emotional regulation.
Family Engagement: Family therapy sessions designed to improve communication and strengthen relationships within the caregiver system.
Psychoeducation & Life Skills Training: Comprehensive support that aids youth in developing coping strategies and enhancing emotional intelligence.
Academic Support: Dedicated time to keep students on track with schoolwork, helping them manage educational responsibilities seamlessly.
Transition Planning & Aftercare Support: Guidance for youth stepping down to a lower level of care, including options to continue working with their therapist post-program.
Transportation: provided for those who need assistance with transportation

Participants in this program will receive 27 hours of structured treatment weekly, spread across various therapeutic modalities over an expected duration of 3-6 weeks.

Program Goals:
Turning Point’s PHP aims to provide essential stabilization and support, reduce the need for inpatient care, and foster long-term success for both youth and families through improved emotional regulation and engagement in healthy activities.

Program Outcomes:
The program seeks to achieve improved stability in various life settings, a reduction in substance use, enhanced family dynamics, and better academic performance.

“We recognize the urgent need for comprehensive support for adolescents facing mental health and substance use challenges,” said Wendy Lee, Executive Director. “The Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program exemplifies our commitment to delivering high-quality, integrated care that empowers youth and strengthens familial relationships.”
