The TRANS II bond legislation will be introduced by Senator Baumgardner and Representative Del Grosso Monday morning at the State Capitol. This is an issue that the Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance (NCLA) and the Fix North I-25 Business Alliance have been working on for some time. Read this Denver Business Journal TRANS II article as well as this Coloradoan article and see the links below for a copy of the bill and additional information.
This bill greatly affects I-25 transportation for northern Colorado. The largest project on the list is the expansion of I-25 from State Highway 14 (Mulberry) to State Highway 66 from two lanes to three lanes in both directions. The beauty of this legislation is that it is a referred statute that goes to the people for support. It requires NO tax increase, it will create jobs, and it requires accountability from the Colorado Department of Transportation regarding the project list outlined in the legislation.
