Bas Bleu Theatre Company of Fort Collins is thrilled to announce the first Readers
Theatre presentation of its 31st Season, Henry James classic tale of horror THE
TURN OF THE SCREW, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Robyn
Cuthbertson, seen recently at Bas Bleu in BLITHE SPIRIT, a ghost play of another
sort.
Based on the 1898 novella, Hatcher has produced a provocative adaptation of
suspense, terror, and repressed sexuality, which the New York Times called “a
dazzling act of imagination” and the Boston Globe referred to as “a brilliantly fluid,
chilling tour-de-force.”
The play features two bravura performances, with Bryan Hill as The Man and Delany
Hearne as The Woman, a multi character duo who vividly project what is cleverly left
unseen and unspoken.
THE TURN OF THE SCREW will be presented October 13th through 15th at Bas Bleu
Theatre, 401 Pine Street at Willow Street in Fort Collins. with performances at 7:30 pm
on Friday and Saturday and a 2:30 pm matinee on Sunday.
