On September 1 firefighters were on duty at The Human Bean Fort Collins locations to help raise money for the Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund, a local charity that benefits Colorado firefighters and their families in time of need. Firefighters served as Guest Baristas at the three locations, including The Human Bean’s newest coffee truck located on the southwest side of Moby Arena at Shields and Elizabeth Streets on the Colorado State University campus. Ten percent of all sales were donated to the nonprofit organization. On September 22 a check for $1,500 was presented to the Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund.
“We are proud to be able to help those that give to our community every day,” said Frank Sherman, owner of The Human Bean. “We are grateful to our customers who continually respond to these special programs and make an effort along with us to help.”
The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund–Colorado Chapter is a local firefighter charity that was formed in 2011, and since then has donated over $80,000 to benefit Colorado firefighters and their families. Receivers of donations from this fund have included families of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty, firefighter family members who are sick or have ambitions to get a college education, and small volunteer fire departments with needs of money for training or equipment.
