The Human Bean Looks To Further Connect With Community With One-Of-A-Kind Custom Coffee Truck

The Human Bean is giving new meaning to drive-thru coffee with their new Human Bean Coffee Truck. With state of the art equipment and features, the coffee truck will be stationed at Colorado State University (CSU) on the southwest side of Moby Arena at Shields and Elizabeth streets–making this the first collegiate partnership of its kind. With its residency at CSU, The Human Bean is the “Official Coffee Sponsor of CSU Athletics.” The coffee truck will offer service Monday through Friday during school hours, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“The CSU community has been very supportive of The Human Bean and being directly on campus is the perfect way to better serve them,” said owner of The Human Bean, Frank Sherman. “Going mobile will allow us to explore new and different markets and continue to strengthen our relationship with the entire community.”

The creative concept and vision for the 32-foot truck were the works of Custom Cart Solutions in Fort Collins. Scott Connor, Creative Director at Custom Cart Solutions, really tricked it out with innovative ideas to make the truck one-of-a-kind. The unique vision was turned over to the engineering genius of SVI Trucks, which is a third generation northern Colorado company that specializes in customizing fire trucks, mobile SWAT units, and other first response vehicles.

“It was important for us to use local companies that know our brand and community,” said Sherman. “Custom Cart Solutions was able to fully address our as well as CSU’s needs, resulting in a rather cool operation on wheels!”

Between Custom Cart’s design ideas and SVI’s ability to turn those ideas into a reality, the coffee truck is filled with custom mechanics that transform it into a rolling Human Bean! The coffee truck has many custom features including:

  • A flat panel TV/monitor that will stream CSU games so fans don’t miss a play while getting their coffee, plus an interior and exterior sound system with awning for better TV viewing.
  • A sunroof from which you just might see one of their baristas pop up!
  • Dual solar panels that serve as the fuel for onboard electronics but will be the power source for a customer charging station called the “Juice Bar”.
  • A front seat that converts to a desk for office work space.
  • Three “towers” on the rear of the unit and side panels that hide the wheels to help emulate the look of The Human Bean’s branded retail locations, disguising that it’s even a truck.

Additionally, The Human Bean Coffee Truck is the first food truck to ever have an NSF Certified “Custom Liner within Food Preparation Areas.” No other food truck can make this claim. It is fully equipped with three espresso machines, one super granita machine, one smoothie machine, an ice machine, a large three-compartment refrigerator, an under-counter refrigerator, plus two drawers, three-compartment sink, hand sink, dump sink and NASA restroom. The Human Bean Coffee Truck truly represents a new standard in design and sanitation.

Although The Human Bean Coffee Truck will primarily be stationed at CSU, it will take off from time to time to attend CSU games and other local events.

The truck is also available for private or corporate events. Those interested in having The Human Bean Coffee Truck at their next event should email [email protected].
