Fort Collins, CO – The Fort Collins Symphony (FCS), in partnership with Friends of the Symphony, wraps up its chamber music series with FCS Up Close no. 3: Forgotten Romantics on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Plymouth Congregational UCC, 916 W. Prospect Rd., Fort Collins.

This inviting and intimate concert shines a light on beautiful, lesser-known works from the Romantic era, offering a fresh listening experience for longtime classical fans and first-time audiences alike. Forgotten Romantics explores music that once stood alongside the great composers of the 19th and early 20th centuries but is now rarely heard, bringing these expressive and compelling voices back to life.

Performed in a relaxed and close-up setting, the program highlights the richness, warmth, and emotional depth of Romantic chamber music, while creating a welcoming space for audiences to connect more personally with the musicians and the music.

A virtuosic and dynamic reimagining of a Baroque theme, showcasing the full range and expressive possibilities of the violin and viola.

Arnold Bax – Trio in One Movement, Op. 4 (1906)
A sweeping and imaginative work that blends lush Romanticism with mystical, Celtic-inspired elements, moving through a wide range of moods and textures.
Together, these works highlight composers whose music is both deeply expressive and deserving of rediscovery.
