The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce has officially culminated a two and a half month campaign to generate financial resources to expand its programs for the community and chamber members.

A goal was set to secure $400,000 in a “total resource campaign” that will provide the Fort Collins area with a properly funded chamber of commerce capable of accomplishing key initiatives in the community. The Chamber is dedicated to improving community infrastructure, sound public policy and economic growth, all of which lead to a more successful and vibrant community.

Reaching this ambitious goal involved the assistance of more than 80 volunteers from 13 different companies.

The “Moving Fort Collins Forward” campaign has been headed by Flood and Peterson CEO Chris Richmond and Columbine Health Systems Director Yvonne Myers with support of campaign vice chairs including Donna Chapel, Chapel & Collins; Byron Collins, Harmony Club; Mark Driscoll, First National Bank; David Everitt, Everitt Companies; Dr. Tony Frank, Colorado State University; Kathy Jack Romero, Coloradoan; Chris Otto, EKS&H; Curt Richardson, OtterBox and Bob Wilson, Columbine Health Systems.

Thursday, November 21 marked the final day of the fundraising effort. The campaign in total has brought in $480,402 that will enable the chamber to successfully carry out its mission and present quality programs to its business members. As well, the campaign has resulted in 107 new members against a goal of 100.

“We have incredible volunteers who have made this happen,” said David May, Chamber President & CEO. “People are busy and the economy is still tough, but it’s clear that the business community wants an effective, properly funded chamber of commerce.”
