The COVID-19 interrupted state legislative session recently concluded. With businesses damaged by the public health response to close the economy, our plea to the state legislature was “primum non nocere”, first do no harm. In their haste to foster social recovery, don’t pile new regulatory and financial burdens on businesses that finish them off or disincentivize them from hiring people.

In the end, it was a very tough session for business.

The area chambers and economic developers are teaming up through the Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance (NCLA) on a 6-part series to review what happened during the session. The six topics include labor, federal legislation, transportation, energy, health care and higher education.

The first session is on labor and is Wednesday, July 1 at 10:00 a.m. You can register here. You can find information about the entire series at www.FortCollinsChamber.com.
