Nomination forms are now being accepted for the 2017 Small Business of the Year Award, presented by the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. All nomination forms are due by Friday, April 21. The winners of the 2017 Small Business of the Year awards will be unveiled at the Celebrating Small Business event on May 25, 2017 at The Drake Centre, 802 W Drake Rd.
The Small Business of the Year event will celebrate small businesses and their contributions to Fort Collins and is followed by the Spring Business Showcase and highly popular Business After Hours event, all on May 25. Registration for these events, and other details will be released soon.

Community members are encouraged to nominate area businesses for the awards that will be given to four companies: 1-10 employees, 11-50 employees, 51-200 employees, and to a company that has been in business for less than three years as part of the newest category, the New Kid on the Block award. For these awards, a small business is defined as an independently owned and operated business headquartered in northern Colorado that is organized for profit. The business is required to have 200 employees or fewer to be eligible.

To receive a Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award, the company must be a member of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce at the time the award is presented. Businesses will be judged on community involvement and stewardship, commitment to good business practices, overall business growth and innovation, and workplace culture and employee relations.
