ABOUT OUR PRESENTATION:
Have you ever told your best friend “Don’t be so hard on yourself!” only to turn around and beat yourself up for that silly things you said in last week’s meeting? Haven’t we all.
In this session, we will talk about Self Compassion: what it is, why it’s so hard, and how we can put it in to practice. In turn, we will learn how to use this a a strength to advocate for ourselves where it really counts: maintaining healthy boundaries and achieving important goals.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:
Katy (she/her) is an occupational therapist in Northern Colorado who owns an occupational therapy private practice specializing in pain management. Katy earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University, where she was honored to receive the distinction of Outstanding Grad Student of the Class of 2022 from the College of Health and Human Services. Before starting her career as an occupational therapist, she served in the United States Coast Guard. An injury and her subsequent rehabilitation sparked her interest in occupational therapy and fueled her passion for advocating a biopsychosocial approach to pain management combined with an occupation-based approach.
