NATIONAL OFFICE – Abe Cole’s selection as BKD CPAs & Advisors’ next chief operating officer created the opportunity for another BKDer to succeed him as North Region managing partner (MP). After a thorough evaluation of numerous internal candidates, BKD selected Jeff Ronsse for the role, effective June 1, 2021.
Ronsse is well known throughout the firm for his strong work with clients, and has demonstrated his ability to teach and inspire BKDers in numerous roles, including an instructor at multiple BKD internal trainings, as an accounting and auditing director for the Oklahoma practice and most recently as managing partner of BKD’s Colorado-Salt Lake City practice. Jeff was also the 2004 employee PRIDE Award winner—one of the highest honors at BKD.
“I am excited to take on the North Region managing partner role,” said Ronsse. “We have an amazing team of professionals dedicated to providing Unmatched Client Service® to our clients. Connecting the right resources to provide solutions to clients will continue to be a high priority of our region.”
As the MP of the firm’s Colorado-Salt Lake City practice, Ronsse has focused on moving the needle for BKD in the Rocky Mountains region while also serving the needs of personnel in those offices. “Jeff is a strong next-generation leader and has demonstrated the ability to deliver excellent results based on the success of the Colorado-Salt Lake City offices during his time as managing partner,” said CEO-elect Tom Watson. “I’m excited to see how he leads the North Region through a transformative period in our profession.”
Cole will begin transitioning the North Region MP duties to Ronsse immediately. “I continue to be impressed with Jeff’s entrepreneurial spirit and his focus on transparent communication with our team members,” Cole said. “I am extremely excited to continue my work with Jeff in our new roles and look forward to his leadership that will be focused on growth, collaboration and the engagement of our team members throughout the North Region.”
Ronsse joined BKD after he graduated from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, in 1999. Ronsse became a partner in 2012 and became the MP of the firm’s Colorado offices in 2017.
“We’re lucky to have trusted advisors like Jeff in the firm who are willing to step up to new challenges with a client-focused mindset and an eye on shaping a bright future for BKDers,” said CEO Ted Dickman.
