Former board chair and founder Larry Kendall to focus on Ninja Selling

The Board of Directors of The Group Inc., Real Estate announces it has selected Doug Miller as its chairman of the board. He succeeds The Group co-founder Larry Kendall.

Miller, 58, has been a partner at The Group since 1999 and has served on the board of directors for three years.  In addition to assuming the board chairmanship, he will continue selling real estate.

Miller said, “The Group is in a very good position with an excellent board and staff.  Our board of directors is focused on making sure the Group continues to be progressive and is keeping pace with today’s business climate.  One of our major initiatives is to bring our clients and partners/owners the most advanced technology available.”

Outgoing board chairman Kendall said, “Doug has that great combination of vision and passion for the company while being a calm, cool decision maker.  He has earned great trust among our partners and will be a superb board chair to lead us into the future.”

Kendall, 71, will continue to be a resource for Group Realtors through the Ninja Selling organization, a selling-system created in 1994 by Kendall as The Group’s training program.  Kendall will still be affiliated with The Group through this training but not involved in the day-to-day operations. Kendall teaches Ninja Selling to real estate companies throughout the United States and Canada.

Miller has been involved with Overland Sertoma Service Club for over 20 years, as a board member and served as president. He is also a past board member and president of The Children’s Speech and Reading Center, and a past director of the Fort Collins Board of Realtors.

Deanna McCrery will replace Miller on the board, a position she also held from 2002 – 2004. She has been affiliated with The Group since 1991.

The Group, Inc., was founded in 1976 and is an independent, 100% employee-owned company. It has six locations in Fort Collins and Loveland, 230 partners and is involved in more annual real estate transactions in Northern Colorado than any other organization. www.thegroupinc.com.
