Most Poudre School District schools will dismiss students two hours early Friday, August 21, due to forecasted high temperatures.
All schools will begin at their normal times, and breakfast and lunch will be served as usual. Students who normally ride the bus home will be dropped off at their regular stops two hours earlier than normal.

Child Care Availability

Why Schools With Air Conditioning Are Included
PSD says most district schools either do not have air conditioning or have cooling only in limited areas. Because elementary and middle school bus routes are interconnected, the district cannot release only schools without air conditioning while maintaining normal schedules at other elementary and middle schools.
Funding from the 2024 Debt-Free Mill Levy is being used to add air conditioning to district schools. Two systems have been installed and two more are underway, according to PSD, but more than 30 schools still need air conditioning.
