Pandemic Restrictions Prompt Cancellation of Lagoon Summer Concert Series

For the first time in its 23-year history, the Lagoon Summer Concert Series is canceled for the summer of 2020. A highly anticipated summer tradition, the Lagoon Summer Concert Series runs from mid-June to mid-August, bringing new and long-time favorite local musicians of different genres to an outdoor stage at the lagoon at Colorado State University (CSU).

The hard decision to cancel the series was ultimately made by sponsor and event host, Colorado State University. “Under the current county guidelines in which CSU is required to adhere due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we will not have the ability to host the event this year,” said Gary Ozzello, Director, Community Outreach & Engagement for CSU.

The Lagoon Summer Concert Series has been owned and produced by Mantooth Marketing & Events for 23 years, who produces the series as a way to give back to the community and support the local music scene. The concert series is not a revenue stream for Mantooth, but is supported by the generosity of community and business sponsors.

“Despite our sadness of not seeing the concert series happen this year, we are in full agreement with CSU and county guidelines to help the community stay safe and healthy,” said Mantooth’s Event Director, Callie Hoppe. “We are now shifting our energy into bringing back the concert series in 2021 and making it better than ever!”
