COLORADO, USA – (DATE) – More than 400 participants logged a record-breaking 1,635.6 miles during the 20th Annual Total Joint Surgery Walk hosted by Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies (OCR).

Held throughout the entire month of September, the annual Total Joint Surgery Walk celebrates the accomplishments of patients who have had joint surgery and are back to moving like they used to. OCR invited patients to join virtually, making it possible for anyone across the United States to participate. This year marked OCR’s sixth year hosting the event virtually, with free registration for all current and past patients.

“The Total Joint Surgery Walk continues to highlight the incredible resilience of our patients,” said Wayne Fraleigh, CEO of OCR. “Each mile logged represents not just physical progress, but the courage and determination it takes to reclaim an active life. Their journeys’ perfectly embody our mission to support well-being in every step.”

For convenient tracking, OCR utilized the free STRAVA Fitness Tracker App for mobile devices. Participants joined the OCR 2025 Walk Club to record their activity alongside fellow movers and cheer each other on throughout the month. Collectively, participants logged more than 821 hours of activity, demonstrating their commitment to recovery and community.

“Every year, this walk reminds us that recovery is not just about returning to movement — it’s about reclaiming confidence and joy,” added Fraleigh. “Seeing hundreds of patients and community members log miles together, virtually and across the country, is a powerful testament to their resilience and to the support that makes those journeys possible.”

OCR also gave free t-shirts to the first 500 people who registered for the virtual walk.
