OpenStage Theatre & Company is thrilled to announce that ensemble member Heather Ostberg Johnson has been awarded the Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Award for Outstanding Featured Performer in a Play – Tier II for her performance in “The 39 Steps”.

The award was presented at the 2025 Henry Awards ceremony on July 28 at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Heather’s portrayal of Clown 2 in OpenStage’s production of “The 39 Steps” showcased her exceptional range, impeccable comedic timing, and dynamic physicality—hallmarks of her signature performance style.

“Heather is a creative force, and we are beyond proud to see her talent and dedication recognized at the state level,” said Jacob Offen, Producing Artistic Director of OpenStage. “Her work in ‘The 39 Steps’ brought joy and brilliance to every moment on stage, and this award is richly deserved.”

Heather is a longtime member of the OpenStage artistic ensemble and currently serves as the company’s Associate Artistic Director. Her work spans acting, directing, choreography, and devised theatre, with training from internationally recognized institutions including Frantic Assembly, The Michael Chekhov Acting Studio, and SITI Company.

The Henry Awards are presented annually by the Colorado Theatre Guild to celebrate excellence in Colorado theatre. This year marked the 19th annual ceremony and the introduction of gender-neutral performance categories, with over 170 productions considered from across the state. Heather’s award places her among a select group of artists recognized for outstanding contributions to Tier II theatre productions.

OpenStage congratulates Heather and the entire “The 39 Steps” team for this incredible honor and thanks the Colorado Theatre Guild for its ongoing support of live theatre in Colorado.
