OpenStage Theatre & Company managed to raise $22,109 on Colorado Gives Day this year, Colorado’s largest day of giving. Support came from over 180 donors between November 1 and December 5, 2023, and surpassed OST&C’s amount raised in 2022 by $2,300.

Five Company members of the organization (artists, board members, staff) and one local business hosted fundraisers for OST&C, all of which either met or surpassed their goal. Board President, Bas Meindertsma met his matching goal of $500, donating an additional $500 totaling $1,000 in donations from his fundraiser. Bloom Floral Boutique managed to raise $1,000 for OST&C as part of the corporate challenge and earned OST&C an additional $1,000 matching donation from Delta Dental from their efforts in doing so. Other fundraisers were hosted by Jessica Kroupa (Managing Director), Brys Scotland (Creative & Marketing Manager), Brenna Freestone-Gilbert (Company Member), and Bryn Frisina (Company Member, Volunteer Company Manager).

Colorado Gives hosted a matching grant opportunity for individuals who started a recurring donation for their organization – up to $100 per donation, $250,000 total. From these efforts, OST&C gained seven new recurring donors, or Curtain Raisers, and will see an additional total of $155 in matched support from the Colorado Gives Foundation when the second scheduled donation processes for the organization.

OST&C is beyond grateful for the support provided by their community to help them raise such a significant amount of money in a singular day. All support helps OST&C to produce high-quality work and provide opportunities for all individuals in the community to be able to attend performances.
