Use Code SWEAT20 for discounted tickets this Friday and Saturday

FORT COLLINS – OpenStage is excited to offer $20 tickets for their remaining performances of SWEAT this upcoming Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10. To take advantage of this special offer, use code SWEAT20 when purchasing tickets online.

SWEAT is a humorous, heart-wrenching, and honest look at the decline of the working class in modern America. In 2000, in a bar in Reading, Pennsylvania, best friends Cynthia (Ghandia Johnson), Tracey (Sydney Parks Smith), and Jessie (Samantha Jo Staggs) share their lives—the good, the bad, and many drinks. Suddenly, they find themselves facing the crushing weight of layoffs and picket lines at the local steel mill. As the union loses ground, trust erodes and they find themselves pitted against one another in a harrowing fight to stay afloat. SWEAT boldly confronts issues of race, deindustrialization, and the ever-slipping grip on the “American Dream.”

This Friday, February 9 performance is dedicated to the Denver Actors Fund (https://www.denveractorsfund.org/), where all cash and check donations made at the performance will benefit the DAF. The Friday performance also features a post-show talkback with Kenny Moten, director of SWEAT and 2023 Colorado Theatre Person of the Year. Saturday marks the closing night performance of SWEAT, and donations made on Saturday will benefit OpenStage’s Fighting for Community Partner, The Cultural Enrichment Center of Fort Collins.

Tickets for SWEAT are available online at www.openstagesweat.com or by calling The Lincoln Center Box Office at 970.221.6730. The box office is open 12 pm–6 pm Tuesday-Saturday. Performances take place in The Lincoln Center Magnolia Theatre (417 West Magnolia Street).
