Northern Engineering, a 36-year-old firm headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado, has recently announced a round of key hires that will support the firm’s civil engineering and surveying practice.
“We are excited to welcome these new team members to the Northern Engineering family. We continue to see strength in the land development market, and these new hires will help us serve existing clients and projects while also positioning for new work,” said Northern Engineering President and CEO Nick Haws.
Marek Klonowski has joined Northern Engineering as a Senior Project Manager. In addition to his project management duties, Marek will be responsible for mentoring and career development. Marek is a licensed civil engineer with over 25 years of experience in commercial, residential subdivisions, multi-family, industrial, intermodal facilities, airports, municipal engineering, and transportation.
Northern Engineering is excited to welcome Ryan Banning back to the team as a Municipal Project Manager. Ryan worked for the firm for seven years before a three-year hiatus. As a licensed civil engineer with 17 years of experience, he will focus on serving the firm’s public works clients as well as assisting with cross-departmental quality control, training, and mentoring.
Jacob O’Banion has joined Northern Engineering as a Civil Engineer. A native of Grand Junction, Jacob earned his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Jacob has experience in hydrologic modeling, inspection, and geotechnical engineering for a variety of commercial, residential, and transportation projects.
Tharen Helgerson has joined Northern Engineering as a Survey Project Manager. Tharen is a licensed land surveyor with over 22 years of experience in all types of surveys, including boundary, location, topographic, utility, ALTA/NSPS land title, construction, and as-built surveys. In addition to his project management duties, Tharen will be responsible for developing and mentoring the survey team.
Voneen Macklin has joined Northern Engineering as a Senior Project Coordinator. Voneen has over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, including 15 years with one of the largest real estate development companies in Northern Colorado. Voneen will be responsible for ensuring Northern Engineering’s projects are running smoothly through efficient administrative process management, workflow coordination, and scheduling.
