The Lagoon Summer Concert Series is an annual tradition in Fort Collins, and while new faces take the stage each year, there are a few crowd favorites that also return every year. Long-time Lagoon fans will be thrilled to learn that on Wednesday, July 31, The Wendy Woo Band will be back for another year of amazing music. The concert is from 6-8:30 p.m. at the west lawn of the Lory Student Center at CSU.

Wendy Woo began singing as a young girl and soon learned the guitar so that she could play her own accompaniment. Her style is incredibly fluid, and she has shared the stage with a variety of performers including The Fray, Counting Crows, Brad Paisley, and more. She’s familiar with venues close to home, such as Red Rocks, and others far away, such as the Bluebird Café in Nashville or Bitter End in New York City.

Today, Wendy loves to write and perform her own songs. She’s developed a method called ‘slaptap’, which uses the guitar body and fret board to create percussive sounds. She’s won Westword Magazine’s Music Awards ‘Singer/Songwriter of the Year’ five times. Audience members are sure to see why in her memorable performance on July 31!

Each week, Little Kids Rock sends talented performers to open for our headliners. The Little Kids Rock performer opening this week is Macy Warner.

The food truck lineup this week includes The Taco Stop, Bigs Meat Wagon, Sweaty Moose, The Human Bean Coffee Truck, and Revolution Artisan Pops.  Lagoon attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics or purchase food from any of the trucks onsite.

The Lagoon Summer Concert Series runs for seven weeks throughout the summer and features a variety of music styles including country, reggae, folk, rock, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for an enjoyable evening of free music. Residents should be cautioned that there is no parking allowed on Plum Drive.

For those who can’t make the show, The Wendy Woo Band’s performance will be broadcast on KRFC 88.9 FM Radio Fort Collins on Wednesday, August 7 at 7 p.m. as part of their “Around Town” series.
