Community leaders and future leaders from Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland and Windsor are more knowledgeable about water than they were nine months ago.The Water Literate Leaders will graduate on May 17 in the River Room Block One. View the list of graduates here!
The Water Literate Leaders class has met monthly since September learning about water issues affecting the Poudre and Big Thompson watersheds: topics related to agriculture, the environment, recreation, municipal and industrial uses. The goal of the class has been to immerse current and emerging regional leaders in all things water– to prepare them to address regional water challenges.
Water Literate Leaders is an offering of the Colorado Water Institute at CSU and the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. The first class, to be recognized at a ceremony this week, is made up of community leaders from Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor, and includes several city council members, a city manager, a mayor, an Ag lender, Chamber of Commerce and economic development leaders, real estate professionals, business leaders, environmentalists and others.
