Rescheduled Winchester Holiday Performance Extends the Lagoon Summer Concert Series to August 12
The Lagoon Summer Concert Series has been breaking attendance records this summer with nearly 2000 attendees each week. The high demand for free outdoor entertainment has influenced Lagoon organizers to reschedule the July 8 rained out performance. The make-up performance, extending the series one week, will be on August 12th featuring Fort Collins-based band, Winchester Holiday.
Winchester Holiday, comprised of two sets of brothers and one “adopted brother”, plays original music that evokes ’60s folk ballads but with a new wave rock edge similar to Belle & Sebastian. They were scheduled to play at the Lagoon earlier in July, but the concert was cancelled due to heavy rains.
The added show coincides with Colorado State University’s annual Community Open House and Ice Cream Social, which is also free and open to the public. All events take place on or near the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center with the ice cream social beginning at 4 p.m. followed by Little Kids Rock Band, Polaris, at 6:15 p.m. and finally Winchester Holiday at 6:30 p.m.
“It’s going to be a really fun night,” Isis DiLoreti, producer of the Lagoon Series, said. “With the attendance trend we’ve been seeing this year, combined with the high anticipation of Winchester Holiday’s performance, we anticipate a really big crowd and just an overall great event for our community.”
Now in its 22nd year, the Lagoon Summer Concert Series proves to be a summer staple for Fort Collins as attendees enjoy an entertaining evening of live music, picnics and food truck fare from America’s Variety Cart, The Human Bean and Bom-Nom-A-Nom.
Produced by Mantooth Marketing, the Lagoon Summer Concert Series is made possible by generous support of Title Sponsors Colorado State University, Kaiser Permanente and Thrivent Financial.
