FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Feb. 2, 2017) – Pathways, a northern Colorado nonprofit serving the community with compassionate hospice care, palliative care and grief and loss support, has been formally recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado as a Leader in Dementia Care. This is the fifth year in a row that Pathways has received this recognition.
“The Pathways staff works extensively to ensure that our patients receive expert end-of-life care,” said Rick Riddoch, Social Services Director. “It is an honor to receive this recognition and a reflection of Pathways’ commitment to the community we serve.”
As a Leader in Dementia Care, Pathways will be recognized on the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado’s website and added to the organization’s referral list. In 2016, Pathways was the only hospice provider in northern Colorado to be recognized as a Leader in Dementia Care.
In order to be approved as a Leader in Dementia Care, an organization must complete a minimum of eight hours of training in Alzheimer’s specific care techniques annually, as well as have 75 percent of staff members attend stand-alone memory care training.
