More than 350 PSD 2021 graduates earn AP scholar awards

Join us in celebrating the PSD graduates from the Class of 2021 who earned Advanced Placement scholar awards.

A total of 368 PSD students received awards at four levels based on their national AP test results at the end of the 2020-21 school year. The highest possible score on exams for these college-level courses is a five.

District-wide totals for AP scholar awards include:  

  • AP Scholars with Distinction earned an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. In PSD, 118 students were named Scholars with Distinction, including: 63 at Fossil Ridge High School, 28 at Fort Collins High School, 20 at Rocky Mountain High School and seven at Poudre High School.
  • AP Scholars with Honor earned an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3.25 or higher on four or more of these exams. In PSD, 78 students were named AP Scholars with Honor, including: 47 at Fossil Ridge High School, 15 at Fort Collins High School, 14 at Rocky Mountain High School and two at Poudre High School.
  •  AP Scholars earned grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. In PSD, 172 students were named AP Scholars, including: 44 at Rocky Mountain High School, 61 at Fossil Ridge High School, 52 at Fort Collins High School and 15 at Poudre High School.

Students who earn scores of three, four or five on AP exams may receive credit from college or universities, saving hundreds or thousands of dollars in post-secondary tuition costs.
