Manufacturers Need to Solve Problems, and This Class Teaches You How

Back in the day, manufacturers wanted employees because of their brawn. These days, manufacturers want employees because of their brains.
That, in a nutshell, is why Front Range Community College is offering Critical Thinking for Manufacturers as its newest manufacturing class.
In 12 hours of instruction, students will learn:
• Don’t just collect data. Collect the right data.
• Problem visualization tools. Solving the real problem.
• Brainstorming is not daydreaming. Thinking outside the box.
• New skills for your toolbox. Bring your real-world problems to class and leave with real-world solutions.
• Implementing organizational change. Don’t just talk about it – do it.
• And there’s also the famous “bird poop on the Jefferson Memorial problem” and how to use the “5 Whys” of problem-solving.
The non-credit class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from Oct. 23 to Nov. 1 at Aqua-Hot Heating Systems, 7501 Miller Drive, Frederick. Paul Harter, president of Aqua-Hot and former chair of the Northern Colorado Manufacturing Partnership, will be the instructor. The fee for the class is $450.
