On Sunday May 21st, Healing Warriors Program is telling suicide to TAKE A HIKE!
Run, walk, hike, come out and have fun supporting suicide prevention for our Veteran families and their access to free non-narcotic care. This professionally timed event is in its second year and is perfect for serious runners who may be looking to improve a time, or just have a fun time. Everyone is welcome to participate in this family friendly event. Bring the dog, grab the stroller and run for those who need our support. We all know the numbers on the suicide rate among our service members. The 22 a day figure only scratches the surface of what is known, and does not include the suicides that happen on active duty bases, or with those not within the VA system. The factors leading up to that are many and complex, from the overuse of narcotics, to the unresolved consequences of trauma, to loss of hope, and to a host of personal and environmental factors that result in tragedy. There are approximately 377,000 veterans in the state of Colorado alone, many of whom require services and care. The National suicide rate amongst our Veteran community is 31.7% per 100,000 personnel, a National tragedy . Providing free, easily accessible care to Veterans and their families is crucial to fighting this battle, especially for those that have lost hope or feel that there aren’t any answers. Healing Warriors Program is here to welcome them and restore that sense of hope and healing to help them reconnect and thrive in their families and community.

Proceeds benefit The Healing Warriors Program: Suicide Prevention through FREE integrative non-narcotic treatments for PTSD, TBI, Interpersonal Trauma, Sleep Disorders, Cancer Support and Chronic Pain. We serve Veterans, from any era and any branch of service. We also serve disabled and homeless veterans, Active duty troops, reservists, National Guard and the spouses/partners and parents of our service members. Healing Warriors Program is a registered VA Vendor and Guidestar Charity, established in 2013. We operate through our clinic in Fort Collins and serving Colorado and Wyoming through additional free monthly Pop Up Clinics in Longmont, Denver, and Colorado Springs and have provided over 30,000 treatments.
