Green Ride?s new DIA shuttle hub opens June 1 at Fort Collins-Loveland Airport

Green Ride Colorado Shuttle’s new headquarters, Green Ride Central, will open June 1 at the Fort Collins-Loveland Airport. It will feature 300+ free overnight parking spots, restrooms, an indoor waiting area and free Wi-Fi for Green Ride customers heading to Denver International Airport.

Planning for the Green Ride Central hub has been underway for months. The timing is ideal. Ongoing Foothills Mall redevelopment requires the company to move its offices. In addition, on June 1 the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is eliminating overnight parking at its congested, 250-space Harmony Transportation Center, located at I-25 and Harmony Road.

Green Ride Central is just 6 miles south of the Harmony lot. Centrally located between Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor and Greeley, it is a true Northern Colorado hub with free and guaranteed long-term parking for hundreds of customers each day.

Harmony Lot drop off/pick up services remain unchanged

Green Ride, Northern Colorado’s only locally owned airport shuttle service, will continue to pick up and drop off customers at CDOT’s Harmony lot. After June 1, Harmony lot will operate the same as Green Ride’s 30 other convenient pick up locations in Northern Colorado and Wyoming, where relatives, friends, co-workers or acquaintances drop off and pick up travelers.

“Opening Green Ride Central supports our commitment to exceed customers’ expectations,” said Ray Schofield, co-founder. “Traveling can be stressful. Trusting somebody to get you to DIA shouldn’t add to that stress. Customers have told us that parking at the Harmony lot can be frustrating. Our new headquarters provide a central location with unlimited parking and enhanced services to help make travel to DIA trouble free.”

He added, “What drives Green Ride is door to door respect for our customers. They trust us to get them to DIA safely and on time. Green Ride Central is a natural progression in our continuing work to build solid relationships with everyone we serve.”

Easy access to Green Ride Central – 6 miles south of Harmony lot

From the north:

– South on I-25 to Exit 262 (Windsor). Follow the west frontage road south to the Fort Collins-Loveland Airport.

– From Hwy 287/South College Avenue, take Carpenter Road (CR 392) east to I-25. Follow the west frontage road south to the Fort Collins-Loveland Airport.

From the south:

– North on I-25 to Exit 259 (Crossroads Boulevard). West under highway to Byrd Drive (first right – frontage road). Follow north to Fort Collins-Loveland Airport.

Gene Vaughan, president of RE/MAX Alliance in Northern Colorado, said, “Green Ride’s making a smart move. You can’t get any more centrally located than the local airport. Now we have a shuttle hub closer to our offices in Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland with restrooms and an incredible amount of parking. For years, I’ve found it difficult to get a space at the Harmony pick-up area no matter what time of day. This makes things so much easier.”

Green Ride Central to boost environmental benefits

“We’re excited about the substantial environmental gains we can expect with Green Ride Central,” said Bob Flynn, co-founder. “Because of its convenient location we expect more riders. More passengers mean more vehicles off the road, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and highway congestion. It plays a role in helping Colorado meet its greenhouse gas reduction goals.”

In 2014:

  • 188,000 passengers were transported, an average of 517 a day.
  • ridership increased 200 percent over 2012.
  • passengers eliminated the equivalent of 160,000 private vehicle trips to DIA.
  • shared rides with Green Ride reduced fuel consumption by over 200,000 gallons and eliminated 4 million pounds of CO2 (assuming 30 mpg for the average passenger vehicle).

$20 fare from Green Ride Central if booked by July 31

Today through July 31, customers who book a shuttle ride that departs from Green Ride Central for travel anytime in 2015 will pay just $20 each way, a 37 percent average savings. The offer is for any customer that parks overnight or is picked up/dropped off at Green Ride Central.
