FORT COLLINS, COLO. – In the spirit of bringing in musicians of all genres and varieties, the Lagoon Summer Concert Series is pleased to present blues and funk band, Mojomama, on Wednesday, July 19, 6-8:30 p.m. This free concert will take place on the west lawn of the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University.

Mojomama describes itself as having a fresh yet familiar vibe, merging traditional R&B and funk with a modern twist. Each concert takes audiences on a journey through not only their trademark R&B and funk style but also jazz, swing and Latin jams, promising a dynamic musical experience.

Lead vocalist and lyricist Jessica Rogalski grew up in New Jersey and relocated to Colorado in the early 1990s. Her talent has led her to perform with many bands throughout the past few decades and across multiple states. Backing up Rogalski is bassist Paul Rogalski, guitarist Bob Murnahan and drummer Paul Christiansen.

Mojomama has completed two original CDs. Its album released in 2015 won Best Self-Produced CD and Best Female Voice from the Colorado Blues Society. In recent news, the band won the International Blues Challenge and will represent the Colorado Blues Society in Memphis, Tenn., in 2018. Learn more about the band at www.mojomama.net.

Opening for Mojomama on July 19 is Little Kid Rock band CLPE Ships Ahoy! (from Cache La Poudre Elementary School). This concert will be especially memorable because event sponsor Houska Automotive will present a Project Self-Sufficiency participant with a refurbished vehicle at intermission. In addition, Cam the Ram will be present to interact with attendees.

Concert goers are encouraged to grab dinner at one of the several local food trucks onsite: Wing Shack, Austin Taco, Umami, Divine Ice Cream and Human Bean Coffee Truck. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for an enjoyable evening of free music. Residents should be cautioned that there is no parking allowed on Plum Drive.
