Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce Announces Winners of the 2016 Small Business of the Year Awards

May 26, 2016 – The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce announced today the winners of its 2016 Small Business of the Year Awards, which recognize small businesses for their outstanding workplace culture, employee relations and community contributions. The winner for the small category (1-10 employees) is Eger CPA Co.; winner for the medium category (11-50 employees) is Frameworks; winner for the large category (51-200 employees) is High Country Beverage and winner for the New Kid on the Block category (business in operation for less than three years) is 970 Services.

Winners were honored at the Celebrating Small Business Awards & Breakfast event on May 26, 2016 at the Fort Collins Marriott. The event included a keynote presentation from Richard Bisson, President and CEO of Water Pik, Inc., headquartered in Fort Collins, CO.

“Small businesses represent the entrepreneurial and community-centered culture that help our city thrive,” said David May, President of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. “It is with great pleasure that we honor these top businesses and say thank you for their dedication to the community.”

The New Kid on the Block winner, 970 services, delivers roofing, restoration, and carpet cleaning services with the mission to exceed customer expectations every day. Owners Adam Trainor and Carlos Medina believe in building their company through local relationships, providing stellar customer service, and giving back to the local businesses that support them. 970 Services gives back to the northern Colorado community by supporting charitable initiatives, including local nonprofit Labor of Love, which offers construction services to those in need.

 

Eger CPA Co., a full-service accounting, consulting and financial services firm, received the top honors in the small category for its dedication to providing clients with professional and personalized services, as well as its outstanding involvement in community organizations. Owners Jason and Dawn Eger specialize in working with entrepreneurs and small- to medium-sized businesses in northern Colorado. Dawn serves as an Ambassador and Business Member for Realities for Children and a Communications Committee member for WomenGive.

Frameworks, the winner of the medium category, has served northern Colorado for 20 years and is one of the leading builders of custom homes in northern Colorado. The company was recognized for delivering quality customer service, planning for longevity and commitment to serving employees. Frameworks further engages with the community through nonprofit building projects, including two with Spring Creek Gardens and one with the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County.

Large category winner, High Country Beverage, is also celebrating 20 years of excellent business practice and serving the community. The family-owned and operated beer distributor covers a population base of 912,000 and has been recognized as a top performer within the industry for superior quality and unparalleled business practice. They support the community through hundreds of thousands of dollars donated to MS Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Foothills Gateway, Namaqua Center and more.

Eight other finalists for the Small Business of the Year awards were also honored and included Outpost Sunsport, Vern’s Toffee, Big O Tires Fort Collins, Flexx Productions, Burke Cleaners, Merit Electric, Elevate Chiropractic, and Road Warrior Creative.
