FoCo Cafe was established as a nonprofit in 2012 to support those in need and to build understanding and community. Since Thanksgiving Day 2014, FoCo Cafe has been the only nonprofit restaurant located in Fort Collins, Colorado serving real, healthy food that is accessible to all members of our community, no matter their means. We operate with a donation box – you can pay what you can, pay what you would normally pay, pay it forward so others might eat, or you are able to make your contribution with time and talent. FoCo Cafe offers healthy meals served with dignity in a beautiful environment allowing all members of our community to connect and make a difference.
Our Board of Directors is composed of 10 members and the cafe’s Executive Director. Our current board treasurer will be leaving her position in June and we are looking for a replacement. The treasurer has access to the monthly balance statements and financial documents and serves as an advisor to the board and the Executive Director. We currently contract with an accounting firm for bookkeeping, payroll services, and completing 990 tax documents. The treasurer is not responsible for these functions.
This is a volunteer position that requires communicating with the board and ED about monthly statements and financial documents and attending monthly board meetings. Those with an accounting background or financial expertise are strongly preferred.
