Colorado State University Hosts Veterans Symposium September 7

Please join Colorado State University for our biennial Veterans Symposium, focusing on leadership and the current generation of military veterans, September 7, 2018. The symposium will be held at CSU’s on-campus Canvas Stadium.

The symposium will feature critical information and discussion opportunities for student-veterans, faculty and staff members, employers, and members of the community regarding the value of veterans and the leadership skills they bring to higher education and private and public employment.

Featured speakers will include Dr. Betty Moseley Brown, Chief of VA Veterans Experience (U.S.M.C. retired); Lt. Gen. James Dickinson, Commander of Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, and CSU alumnus; and Jared Lyon, President and CEO Student Veterans of America and 2018 Presidential Leadership Scholar.

Interactive sessions and panels will include:

  • Translating military leadership skills to a new career
  • Round-table discussion on women leadership
  • Student-veteran leadership programming on campus
  • Attracting, retaining, and valuing veterans in the workplace
  • Current research regarding veterans in higher education
  • Special session for student-veterans on crafting your leadership narrative led by Jared Lyon

Cost for the symposium is $25 for the general public and FREE for all students and CSU faculty and staff. REGISTER TODAY – Space is limited.
