FORT COLLINS, CO (Sept. 8, 2017)—The Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association (CMLA) has chosen Sabrina Nowling, Regional VP-Marketing of Cornerstone Home Lending, Inc., as the recipient of its 2017 Aksel Nielsen Award. The award is given each year to an individual who has shown outstanding commitment and service through their work on the CMLA Board of Directors.

Ms. Nowling was presented with the award by her friend and mentor Michael E. Rosser during the 44th Annual CMLA Convention. In 2016, she assisted in the establishment of the CMLA/Rosser Endowment for Colorado State Business students. Nowling has also been active in recruiting millennials into the Mortgage industry. She has attended career fairs, networked with millennials to hear their needs and wants and established an internship and new grad program at Cornerstone Home Lending.

“It’s an honor to be this year’s Aksel Nielsen Award recipient,” says Ms. Nowling. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back in our industry, to help future leaders start their careers, and to make a difference in our community.”

Ms. Nowling’s mortgage career spans 26 years. She has served 14 years with Cornerstone Home Lending in various roles, including operations, origination, sales, business development, and marketing.
