CELEBRATING DIVERSITY THROUGH MUSIC AND DANCE
Fort Collins, CO, January 8, 2018– Classical Revolution Northern Colorado (CRNC), an organization of classically-trained professional musicians, is pleased to announce its upcoming event, Color of Change, on February 2, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church (815 E 16th St, Loveland, CO 80538), and February 3rd, 2018 at 7:00 PM at University Dance Theatre, University Center for the Arts at CSU (1400 Remington St, Fort Collins, CO 80524).
Although their compositions are highly recognized overseas, few classical music enthusiasts in the US are aware of the contributions of Florence B. Price, Margaret Bonds, or Hale Smith. Although today there are many composers & performers of African descent throughout the world, their works are underperformed & underrated. Classical Revolution Northern Colorado will partner with nationally-regarded tenor, Anthony McGlaun, CSU professors John Seeshultz, Madeline and Matthew Harvey, and CSU students to present the NoCo premiere of a selection of vocal chamber works by several pioneering black composers.
Works will include: Florence B. Price, 5 Folksongs in Counterpoint for string quartet; Nathaniel Dett, The Chariot Jubilee (1921), for tenor, chorus, and orchestra; Hale Smith: Spirituals; and William Grant Still, Sonata for flute and piano.
Through live music and dance, Color of Change explores personal experiences and perceptions of culture and diversity in our community. Special pre-show talk begins at 6:00pm.

Classical Revolution Northern Colorado is an exciting organization of classically-trained professional musicians dedicated to performing high-quality chamber music in non-traditional settings. We plan to make classical music as accessible as possible to new audiences, cut down the production costs and get the musicians out of the concert halls and into popular venues.
Just think: you get to applaud whenever you feel like it. You get to meet the musicians. You get to learn about classical and contemporary music, and you get to be where you are most comfortable.

We have two goals:
• To enrich the Fort Collins community by presenting upbeat high-quality and accessible classical music in non-tradition settings, and
• To foster collaborations with local businesses—bars, breweries, cafes and restaurants, museums, and hospitals and other arts organizations.
