City of Fort Collins Temporary Overflow (overnight-only) Shelter Discussion set for November 18

City of Fort Collins staff will be discussing the Temporary Overflow (overnight-only) Shelter at the DDA Retailers and Hospitality Sector meetings coming up Thursday, Nov. 18. See times and locations below.  

City staff from Social Sustainability and Police Services will be at each meeting, as well as, the service provider partners from Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Outreach Fort Collins will be there to help provide information and answer questions.

Retailers’ Meeting

Bottom Line: The City-owned building at 212 W. Mountain will be leased to Fort Collins Rescue Mission for temporary overflow (overnight-only) shelter during the winter season of November 2021-April 2022.

This site will:

  • Be overnight only, open from 5:00pm – 8:00am.
  • Be staffed during all hours of operation by Rescue Mission staff with assistance from Precision Security.
  • Regularly be visited by Outreach Fort Collins street outreach team (nearby businesses will be proactively visited as well).
  • Only be utilized on nights when Rescue Mission’s location at Linden & Jefferson reaches capacity.

Businesses are encourage to engage in the conversations.
