Bas Bleu Theatre Company of Fort Collins is thrilled to announce the first mainstage production of its 31st Season, NATIVE GARDENS, by award winning Latina playwright Karen Zacarias and listed in American Theatre Magazine as one of the top ten most produced plays in the United States.

In the suburbs of Washington D.C., high powered lawyer Pablo Del Valle and his pregnant doctoral candidate wife Tania have just purchased their dream home next to long term residents and garden fanatic Frank and his wife Virginia.
Conflict flares when Pablo and Tania discover that their property line is two feet into Frank’s beloved garden and an all out border dispute erupts, turning friendly neighbors into feuding enemies.

Widely produced nationally and heralded as a sparkling comedy of good intentions and bad manners NATIVE GARDENS features Bas Bleu favorites David Seiver as Frank and Louise Thorton as his wife Virginia. Also featured are Jordan Hull as Tania Del Valle and Will Martella as Pablo Del Valle, with Alma Alvarado–Cabrera, Matthew Berman, Jesus Castro Gonzalez, Lana Greeness, and Alieh Jasper as the rollicking ensemble of Landscapers, Inspectors, and Home Helpers.
The play will be directed by Saffron Henke, Associate Professor of Theatre and Head of Performance at CSU, recently seen on the Bas Bleu Mainstage as Honeyman in A WALK IN THE WOODS. The production team includes the always inventive costume designer John Hill, and award-winning set designer Brian Miller.

Called, “sharp, witty, with lots of laughs and a sense of currency and immediacy” by the Minnesota Post, NATIVE GARDENS will be presented September 8th thru October 01st at Bas Bleu Theatre, 401 Pine Street at Willow Street in Fort Collins.
Join us for an opening night reception for free beer, wine and food on September 9. Starting at 6:30, Jocelyn will be serving beer from her Tap Truck!

Performances begin on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and at 2:30 pm for the Sunday matinees. Friday, September 08th is a pay-what-you-will/preview performance.
