FORT COLLINS, COLO. – June 28, 2016 – As part of its community-focused nature, the Lagoon Summer Concert Series is featuring a special partnership with the Mishawaka for its July 6 concert at Colorado State University. The Mishawaka celebrates its 100 year anniversary in 2016, and in honor of the occasion, Mish 100 is presenting jazz and soul band, Eufórquestra, in support of Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity. The concert begins at 6 p.m. on the west lawn the Lory Student Center and is free and open to the public.
Eufórquestra (pronounced yoo-FOHR-keh-struh) is comprised of six talented musicians (13 with the extended lineup), who generate a diverse sound that combines jazz, soul, funk, reggae and more. Band members include Mike Tallman, guitar and vocals; Austin Zaletel, saxophone and vocals; Matt Wright, keys and vocals; Otis Lande, bass; Craig Babineau, drums; and Matt Bricker, trumpet.
In an effort to continually evolve their signature sounds, Eufórquestra has collaborated with numerous artists, including Jennifer Hartswick ofTrey Anastasio Band, Kyle Hollingsworth of String Cheese Incident, Gabriel Mervine and Kim Dawson of The Motet and more. The band has released five full-length albums and played more than 1,000 shows.
Opening for Eufórquestra on July 6 is Little Kid Rock Band performer, Emma Marie. The evening will also feature local food trucks: The Taco Stop, Pizza Casbah, The Goodness Truck, Ba-Nom-a-Nom and the Human Bean Coffee Truck. Throughout the course of the event, Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity will provide the community with ways to become involved with its affordable housing campaign, House That Beer Built II. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for an enjoyable night of free music and community interaction.
