In a world where terms like sense and civility are often neglected, words such as courtesy and respect often overlooked – Jon D. Williams Cotillions stands as a model in educating our young to appreciate the significance of social skills in our culture.

ARE COTILLION CLASSES RELEVANT TODAY?

For many the term “cotillion” conjures up an antiquated scene, right out of the Age of Innocence, where only children of the very privileged learn to box step to the commands of dance masters with fastidiously held teacups – pinkies properly raised. This misconception is far removed from the program that is instructed by Jon D. Williams Cotillions in over 50 cities throughout the United States. In addition to utilizing dance as a tool to breakdown inhibitions and develop confidence – students learn essential social skills that contribute to their character and will have a positive influence on their future social and business relationships.

One of our objectives is to overcome any misconceptions of the term “cotillion,” and to increase public awareness that Jon D. Williams’s programs are open to all students who wish to participate; limited only by the size of the classes. Scholarships are available to all our programs. We also are committed to supporting schools and local charities in the communities we serve.

As discussed in the enclosed literature, the subject of social education and manners is becoming increasingly relevant in our culture. Schools and businesses are including social skills courses in their curriculums, and the media is headlining articles on bad behavior and its significance.
