Strong communities are shaped by people who are willing to step forward, learn how their community works and take an active role in what comes next.
Since 1981, Leadership Fort Collins has helped current and emerging leaders better understand the history, government, economy, opportunities and challenges that shape the city. Along the way, participants build relationships, strengthen their leadership skills and gain direct exposure to the people, businesses and organizations moving our community forward.
For the prospective 2026-2027 Leadership Fort Collins class, applications are now open.
Thirty participants will be selected for the nine-month program, which begins in September and concludes in May. The class meets on the second Thursday of each month for full-day sessions focused on topics including local government, economic development, public safety, education, health care, community planning, diversity and leadership development.
Leadership Fort Collins helps people see the community more clearly, understand where they can make a difference and build the connections needed to lead effectively.
This premier community program does more than share information. It helps people see the community more clearly, understand where they can make a difference and build the connections needed to lead effectively.
Completion of the program also opens the door to a partnership with the CSU College of Business, giving Leadership Fort Collins alumni access to discounted tuition opportunities for continued learning.

Fort Collins does not become stronger by accident. It takes informed, engaged people who care about this community and are ready to help shape its future. In other words: on purpose.
I encourage you to apply, or to share this opportunity with someone who should be part of the next Leadership Fort Collins class.
