On Thursday, Aug. 29, Fort Collins Utilities Water crews will be working on the water main line that services the area on the West side of College, from Jefferson Street to Mountain Avenue. To minimize inconveniences, crews will begin work at approximately 1 a.m. This project will improve system reliability as well as protect water quality.
Those locations will be without water from approximately 1-8 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 29. When service is restored, you may experience cloudy or discolored water. If this occurs, remove faucet aerators and/or filters and run cold water until it clears. This water is not harmful, though it may stain laundry. It’s also safe to use on plants and landscape. If your water does not clear within 20 minutes, wait for half an hour then try again.
During this project, you can expect heavy machinery, construction-related traffic and material. We will make every effort to minimize inconveniences and keep the area safe.
