NORTHERN COLORADO, Sept. 1, 2016 – The Human Bean, a community-focused drive-thru coffee business in northern Colorado, is pleased to announce that it collected a total 2,423 school supply items at all locations during its two-week drive at the beginning of August. The items gathered at its Larimer County locations were donated to Lincoln Middle School in Fort Collins, and the items gathered at its Weld County locations were donated to the Teachers Closest in Greeley.

“We are very grateful for the incredible generosity of our customers,” said Frank Sherman, owner of The Human Bean. “Because of their commitment to the community, we are able to continue supporting education among our youth.”

Supplies collected include pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, markers, post-it notes, boxes of tissues, spiral notebooks and more. They will be used by students at Lincoln Middle School throughout the school year and by students in Weld County via the Teachers’ Closet, where teachers can have access to free school supplies for their classrooms.

“Our staff and I are firm believers in the idea that the lack of a pencil should never come between a child and their education,” said Elisha Hanford-Smith, McKinney Advocate at Lincoln Middle School. “With the help of The Human Bean staff and customers, we are going to make that our practice this year!”

In addition to the school supply drive, The Human Bean spearheads numerous other charitable projects throughout the year, including its largest charity, Coffee for a Cure every October. More information on The Human Bean’s philanthropy efforts can be found at humanbeannortherncolorado.com.
