LOVELAND, COLO. – June 21, 2016 – High Country Beverage, a family-owned and local beer distributor, celebrates its 20 year anniversary in June 2016. Throughout the past two decades, High Country Beverage has expanded tremendously and become an integral part of the northern Colorado community.
“20 years is more than just a number to us,” said Dave Nichols, CEO and Founder of High Country Beverage. “It demonstrates our dedication to serving our community and providing our customers with superior service, while fulfilling our mission of being the best beverage distributor in the country. We have the best team of employees that we could ask for, and I am beyond grateful for the motivation and loyalty of the many past and present individuals.”
High Country Beverage was founded in June 1996 in Loveland after merging two beverage distributors in Fort Collins and Greeley. Since then, it has added numerous brewery suppliers to their portfolio of brands that now include Coors Light, Miller Lite, Blue Moon, Pabst, Keystone Light, Corona, Modelo Especial, Heineken, Guinness, Dos XX, Boston Beer, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Boulder Beer, New Belgium, Oskar Blues, Black Bottle Brewery, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, and many other world class breweries. High Country Beverage currently provides superior service to more than 2,000 retailers. In 2012, High Country Beverage acquired Colorado Beverage Distributing, Inc. on the Western Slope, allowing it to service 500 customers in the Grand Junction and Montrose areas. Over this period, High Country Beverage has grown from 17 employees in 1996 to more than 160 employees today.
As the company grew in customer reach and size, its commitment to unparalleled quality and service never changed. Recent industry recognition includes the MillerCoors President’s award, the Constellation Regional Wholesaler of the Year award in 2014, the Bill Coors Regional Quality Award and regional New Belgium Wholesaler of the Year award in 2015. In May, High Country Beverage was awarded the 2016 Small Business of the Year Award from the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce.
On a local level, High Country Beverage supports the community through numerous philanthropic initiatives. The company donates annually to dozens of nonprofit organizations, including the MS Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Foothills Gateway, Namaqua Center, CSU, Telluride Foundation, Grand Junction Community Hospital Foundation, The AC Foundation, the Dolphin House, Partners Mentoring Youth and more. High Country Beverage has further become involved in the community by establishing the TAKE CARE® Responsibility Program, which promotes safe consumption of alcohol, awareness in the community, and encouraging young adults to take care of each other.
With 20 years in the rearview, High Country Beverage has no plans of slowing down any time soon. The company presently operates out of three separate warehouses in northern Colorado, as well as additional warehouses in Grand Junction and Montrose, and recently bought land in the southeast corner of I-25 and U.S. 34 in Johnstown to serve as the location of a new headquarters. The facility will be a 130,000 square-foot building that will provide warehouse, distribution and office space to sustain ongoing growth.
