Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity has opened its September application period for its affordable homeownership program, with opportunities available at Bloom, Heartside Hill and through a new one-home pilot in Wellington.
The Wellington home represents a new step for Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity as the organization explores how its affordable homeownership model can serve more households throughout northern Larimer County. Priority for the Wellington home will be given to qualified applicants who currently live or work in Wellington.
Habitat’s homeownership program provides qualified homebuyers with an opportunity to purchase a safe, stable and affordable home. Participants contribute sweat equity by helping build their own home and the homes of others, complete homeownership education classes and purchase their home with an affordable mortgage.

Applications Open Through September 30
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including income guidelines, ability to pay, housing need and willingness to partner with Habitat. Income requirements are based on Area Median Income guidelines and vary by household size.
The first step in the application process is completing Fort Collins Habitat’s online applicant orientation and required quiz. The orientation will be available through 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2026. Prospective applicants who complete the orientation and quiz can then prepare the required documentation for an in-person application appointment in October.
