Across Larimer County, we care about each other. We’re committed to building a community where support is always available and everyone has access to the care they need to thrive.
Behavioral health has long faced challenges — limited funding and increasing demand — but, together, we can turn challenges into opportunities. Through local funding, collaboration, and a shared commitment to one another, we’re making a difference.
In 2018, the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce endorsed Ballot Issue 1A, otherwise referred to as the “Mental Health Matters Sales Tax Increase.” A total of 61% of Larimer County voters chose to invest in behavioral health by passing a 20-year, 0.25% sales tax. That means that every time we spend $100, 25 cents goes directly toward strengthening behavioral health services in our community.
The 2024 Larimer County Behavioral Health Services Annual Report highlights the impact of this investment. Every story of healing, every life changed, is because of our collective commitment to a healthier, more-supported community.
This year’s report features things like:
- Moving stories about how tax dollars have changed lives in Larimer County.
- A breakdown of sales-tax revenue generated by each municipality in 2024.
- A snapshot of the first year of operations at the Acute Care facility at Longview campus, which is funded by your tax dollars and open 24/7/365 to people of all ages experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
- Behavioral Health Service’s updated mission, vision and values. It is important that our department evolves with the community’s needs and that we are clear about our “what,” “why” and “how,” as we continue to strengthen connections among community services, providers and all the organizations working to improve our behavioral health care system.

Thank you, Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce members, and thank you, Larimer County, for your support. We are stronger together.
