Fred Pitzl, Administrator of the Good Samaritan Society’s Fort Collins Village, received a distinguished honor while at the company’s annual conference in June 2016, in Sioux Falls, SD. Pitzl was nominated by his leadership team at the 43-year-old senior living community on Trilby Road, as a leader who consistently exhibits characteristics of “The Good Samaritan Society Way.”
The GSS Way is an organization-wide program designed to promote eight exemplary traits of Jesus Christ: Love, Compassion, Humility, Acceptance, Courage, Joy, Honesty and Perseverance. The not-for-profit, faith-based community trains every new employee on these eight traits as part of the daily focus of their jobs, no matter their position – from marketing to dietary to nursing to housekeeping. Pitzl was nominated as an Administrator who exhibits these eight traits naturally and consistently. He won this national honor among all fellow executive directors in the company; the Good Samaritan Society owns 230 locations in 23 states.
As a result of earning this prestigious honor, the Fort Collins Village was visited by National Campus videographer Lonnie Nichols in April who spent the day on campus capturing the candid ways that Pitzl embodies the GSS Way traits.
