The Greyrock Jazz Band will perform live from 5:30-7 pm Friday, July 5, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. From 5-8 pm, visitors will enjoy free admission to the Museum during First Friday Art Walk.

The Greyrock Jazz Band is a group of amateur musicians in the Fort Collins, Windsor, and Loveland areas who love playing traditional jazz music. Their arrangements are traditional New Orleans style tunes as well as Dixieland arrangements of popular pieces.

The Global Village Museum has four galleries, two rotating and two permanent. The rotating Main Gallery hosts three to four exhibitions per year, and the rotating Hall Gallery highlights local artists and organizations. The permanent galleries are Mundoville and John E. Roberts Village Arts. The former showcases international folk art as well as the world in miniature. The latter is home to world folk art, fine art, and artifacts from Africa and Asia that were donated by local collectors and founding members.

Currently on exhibit in the Main Gallery is One World, One Family, portraying the beauty of indigenous civilizations. The photographs and items are from the collections of John Lincoln Baxter, Connie Baxter Marlow, Andrew Cameron Bailey, and Alison Baxter Marlow. It is an intergenerational exploration and celebration of native peoples on this earth.

In conjunction with the Main Gallery exhibit, the Museum’s Hall Gallery showcases photographs of Indigenous American objects by David O. Marlow. Both exhibits run through Sept. 21. The Museum also features a music room with international instruments, the Losel Doll House showcasing Tibetan dolls and costumes handmade by Buddhist monks, and a gnome treasure hunt for youth

The Global Village Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Avenue, and Museum hours are 11 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Regular admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, $1 for ages 4-12, and free for children 3 and under. Adult tours receive discounted admission of $3/person.
