The Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH) and Medical Center of the Rockies (MCR) Foundation, in partnership with WISH – Women Investing in Strategies for Health – invites you to the WISH organization’s annual membership social on Thursday, June 18 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the Lory Student Center Ballroom at Colorado State University. The evening provides an opportunity to meet those who have received funding from WISH, learn how WISH-funded projects are inspiring the community to move from healthcare to health and hear how community members can become part of the movement.

“Our focus is on helping women, children and families in northern Colorado,” explained Lori McWhinney, WISH incoming chair. “Since our inception in 2013, we have supported over 16 projects and invested more than $70,000 in the healthcare of our community. At the social, attendees will have the benefit of hearing directly from the recipients of these dollars. I’ve never found an easier organization in which to be involved. WISH combines my contribution with those from so many great philanthropic women to impact meaningful programs and services for our community through the PVH and MCR Foundation. I’m thrilled to be a part of this organization and our community as a whole. “

WISH is a women’s giving circle whose mission is to educate, empower, and inspire women philanthropists by supporting health needs in Larimer County. The organization provides members the opportunity to pool their funds, learn about county-wide health needs, and collectively decide how their money will be utilized in support of local programs, projects and services provided by University of Colorado Health (UCHealth), including services provided in partnership with community organizations. Participants of WISH – 82 members strong and growing – are actively involved in how their dollars will be spent through an annual review and voting process.

Appetizers and beverages will be served during the event, which is free to attend. It is requested that those planning to attend kindly RSVP to www.supportinghealth.org/WISHregistration by June 12.

“If you’ve ever wished to foster positive, community-wide change by supporting health-based programs in our area, I would encourage you to learn more about our organization,” added McWhinney.

Those who are interested but unable to attend are encouraged to contact JoAnn Herkenhoff at [email protected] or 970.237.7403 to learn more about WISH. While the annual membership meeting is held once a year, interested parties can sign up for WISH at any time.
